Advice for Applying for a Visa

  1. Dress politely/conservatively when visiting immigration in Phuket Town.
  2. Arrive at immigration early. The office dealing with ED and O visas will only accept 30 applicants per day.
  3. Be sure to have all paper work prepared and ready to show.

Documents Required for Guardians

Please make sure you make copies of the documents for official purposes when visiting Immigration.

  1. Application form
  2. A letter from the school confirming your child’s status at Buds school system (please provide us with 5-days-notice when requesting this)
  3. A bank letter confirming your THB 500,000 deposit that was paid into your account (please ensure that the account is under your name)
  4. Bank statements for the last 3 months
  5. One passport photo
  6. Passport page with identification details
  7. Passport page with Non-Immigrant visa stamp
  8. Passport page with last arrival in Thailand stamp
  9. A copy of the student’s immunization / vaccination record
  10. Arrival card (T.M.6)
  11. Each child’s passport page with identification details
  12. Each child’s birth certificate
  13. House registration or lease agreement, with a copy of the property Owner’s ID card
  14. Bank book updated over the past 3 months
  15. A fee of THB 1,900

A Note on Bank Statements

For first-time applicants, the THB 500,000 deposit must be made at least 30 days prior to applying for your extension. If it is your second or subsequent year applying, there must be THB 500,000 deposited at least 3 months prior to applying for your extension. Each Guardian applying must have their own THB 500,000 deposit made.

The amount of money shown in the bank book must correspond to the information shown on the letter from the bank. If both Guardians share a joint-account, the amount needs to be THB 1,000,000, and needs to be presented together with a Marriage Certificate. Please note that it is advisable to have your own personal account over a joint account.
